Main Event Recap - $25 No Limit Hold 'Em:

Zach spends his final moments with the Kuhnster.

Dudes at the table. Very serious bunch.

After more than 8 hours, John and Scott got down to heads-up almost dead even in chips.

Scotts KQ hit two pair on the final flop to outrace John's 77. Scott walks away with his 2nd tournament win, his first Main Event title, and $312 in cold, hard $1 bills. Congrats to Scott on becoming the 2008 Main Event Champion.

New Rules: As usual, we will be switching up some things for this year's tournaments. Below are a list of the new rules that we will be playing by:
1. 4pm Start Times: Because of some of our unusually long games, we are going to be playing almost all games (minus the Main Event for sure) at 4pm, unless otherwise noted.
2. Starting Stacks: 1,500 for No Limit tourneys. 1,000 for Limit tourneys. The same blind structures as last year will be used.
3. Total Points for Player of the Year Race: We will be switching back to a total points system for the Player of the Year race. It will start at 1pt for last place, regardless of how many people are in any given game, and increase 1pt for each eliminated player until we reach the money. At that point, the points will jump significantly, depending on the number of players, to reward both cashing in and especially winning a tournament.
4. Dues Cut in Half: from $60 last year to $30 this year. $2.50/month. Dues can be paid once every two months, or all at once, depending on your preference. All games will still be $5 with the exception of the $25 Main Event, the $10 H.O.R.S.E. tourney, and the $10 heads-up tournament.
5. All Dues Go Towards Player of the Year: The Main Event pot will not be increased with any dues. Also, it is likely that only two players will be paid out for the P.O.Y. award.
6. Tournament Schedule: Look to the sidebar for this year's tournament schedule. Some games have been eliminated. Some have been added. Others have been extended.
Good luck to all this year. If we don't see you in August, we will see you soon.
